Admin Operations

The public admin surface already covers a broad slice of the Fluss administrative RPCs.

Today the Go SDK supports:

  • database lifecycle calls such as create, drop, exists, info, and list
  • table lifecycle calls such as create, alter, drop, info, schema, and list
  • partition lifecycle calls such as create, drop, and filtered list
  • snapshot metadata calls including latest/readable lake snapshots and KV snapshot metadata
  • cluster-scoped operations including config describe/alter, rebalance control, server tags, and ACL management

Practical Scope

The most thoroughly real-cluster-validated admin flows today are the safe database/table/partition lifecycle paths exercised by the Fluss + Paimon demo harness.

Some cluster-global mutations are implemented and request-tested, but they are intentionally outside the narrower single-cluster demo contract for now. That means the SDK surface exists, but the strongest validation currently sits with the mock integration layer rather than the public demo.

Design Direction

The SDK keeps admin APIs Go-native:

  • explicit helper clients rather than Java-style builder sprawl
  • standard Go error handling
  • context.Context on networked operations
